In 2006, City of Chicago officially named a part of Magnolia Street "Erwin Helfer Way" honoring the lifelong contributions of Erwin's extraordinary piano work.
Recommended Reading by Erwin Erwin's current favorite book is "Balanced on the Edge" by Lindia Platt. "Balanced on the Edge" is a wonderful novel set in 1960s about Flora, a 14-year-old girl in a Chicago slum thrown out of her home by an emotionally abusive parent. Erwin highly recommends this book as a "masterpiece." |
